Thanks to the brilliant mind of Steve Jobs, we’re able to have a smartphone that’s more than just a gadget to us. He succeeded in creating an operating system, or iOS, that’s capable of achieving the level of personalization that’s a lot different than any other. When you own an iPhone, you almost feel like you belong to a huge family. So, why is Apple so special and what makes all of us want it so bad? The answer is pretty simple – its apps.
iPhone app development is really huge and has been for a long time now – and it’s getting bigger with each passing year! After Apple legally allowed its users to make iOS apps (it’s not like they actually had a choice here – it’s amazing how people went crazy and wanted more), the whole app market spread. The point of Steve’s idea was to have a phone that enables you to download as much apps as you want, which will all behave like they were native and came along with the phone – an iPhone, to be exact.
There are a couple of things that make iPhone apps extremely functional. First, there’s something called SpringBoard, which most of us recognize as the Home Screen. What most people don’t know is that SpringBoard is actually just an app that manages the iOS Home Screen! Another thing that makes iPhone so efficient is the option of having folders – this way, you’re able to sort your apps and make your SpringBoard neater and more personal than ever before.
So, when Apple introduced third-party apps in July 2008, some rules of the iPhone game changed a bit. Even though those apps weren’t, and still aren’t, approved and certified by Apple, they are made for iOS and it’s not like they’re not functional – on the contrary. Once your phone is jailbroken, you’re able to download and use non-Apple apps, select a mobile carrier according to your wishes, and even install another OS – Linux, OS X or Windows – if you find it necessary. So, with some proper adjustments, you’re basically able to have a phone that has everything you want, the way you want it.
With all these qualities aside, there’s one important thing that’s going to sum up everything mentioned so far – apps are our present and our future. It’s interesting how there’s an app for everything you need – reminder, health, entertainment, business – that’s capable of making you more efficient and that improves the quality of your life in a certain way. If you’re still in doubt about the whole technology progress and the amazing speed it’s headed, you should know that you’re probably not using it properly, or maybe – you don’t have the right apps? You should know that there are a lot of people who are missing out on this, and you don’t want to be one of them. If you consider that there’s still no perfect app for you, you should have them made – simple as that! Have your imagination combined with being practical, and all the pieces will fall in their rightful place.
